I want to know Christ—yes, the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in his death…” (New International Version, Phil 3:10)
Today, millions of people around the world are celebrating Easter Sunday. Many gather together with their friends and family, having delicious meals, as the children eat chocolate and find hidden easter eggs in the yard. For me personally, I am excited to share a delightful Easter Sunday dinner with my family this evening!
However, as Christians, it is important to remember what Easter is all about: Celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
In the above passage, the apostle Paul expresses a desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection. Studying the life of Paul, it is evident that the power of the resurrection worked in his life; as he went from a persecutor to a proclaimer, a killer to a healer, and a Pharisee to an apostle.
Today, as we celebrate Easter Sunday, let us all take some time to consider the Resurrection of Jesus and the power it should have in our lives.
Imagine the amount of power God has to exert to raise Jesus from the dead! God had to do what is impossible for man to do on their own! Yet, Paul states in Romans 8:11 that this same “resurrection power” lives within us!
If you are not yet a Christian, choose to study the Bible and let the power of the resurrection transform you.
If you are a Christian, I want to encourage you with this – you have the power of God living inside of you! Let this power move you to grow in your walk with God, and persevere no matter what! As well, consider what areas need a revival in your life… And let the power of the cross change you this week!
Indeed, there’s no greater power that any human can access other than the resurrection power. Let’s celebrate Jesus and embrace the power He has given us through His death!
Happy Easter!
